Coaching Excellence in Organizations
Lead Instructors

Robert Dunham, founder of the Institute for Generative Leadership, was a vice president or COO in four major companies including Motorola. He holds two degrees from Stanford University, was on the staff that developed the three-year program of Ontological Design, and has studied the discipline of embodied learning extensively. He is Executive in Residence of the Adjunct Faculty in the MBA program in Sustainable Management at Presidio World College, and has taught at the University of San Francisco. Robert has combined communication and language, management practice design, and approaches to embodied learning that shift people’s capabilities for producing action as an integrated approach to building executive and management skill. The IGL discipline produces skills, rather than just theory, in management and leadership. The foundations of the discipline draw on the work of: Drs. Fernando Flores, Humberto Maturana, John Austin and John Searle in language and action; the work of Dr. Richard Strozzi Heckler in the discipline of embodied learning; and the insights of George Leonard into long term practice as a path to mastery.

Julio Olalla is founder of Newfield, an international education, coaching and consulting company that focuses on training coaches and growing leaders inside organizations.  Julio, a lawyer in Chile in the early 1970’s, fled to the United States after escaping the coup d’etat in Chile and political unrest in Argentina. Once in the USA, Julio began to teach History and Spanish in the De Anza College in California. He also joined a group of Chilean refugees and American Professors in the University of California at Berkeley to study Philosophy of Language and Biology of Cognition. These studies were not just theoretical research but studies oriented to produce an impact in people’s abilities to generate effective action. As a result of that learning, in 1983 Julio began to lead workshops all over the USA and Canada, followed by communication and leadership programs offered in Mexico, Chile, Argentina and Australia. Today, Julio brings his vast personal experience along with his professional experience of working with people and organizations from all over the world to generate profound transformation in people’s ability to communicate, to improve their productivity and to enhance their well being. Julio is considered one of the pioneers in the coaching movement and Newfield has developed into a world-class, premiere, cutting-edge coaching and leadership education company.
