Spotlight on Sonya Ware
Hello Fellow Newfielders! It has been a while since I have connected with you. I miss you dearly, and long to connect with you spiritually when I speak, coach, and share Newfield learning with my clients.
I work for Shell as a Change and Integration Manager—fancy title for Organizational Effectiveness Consultant—for a couple of Shell General Managers and their organizations. This work includes Myers-Briggs and other personal and team-effectiveness assessments and measures. It also includes designing highly effective face-to-face meetings in different places around the world. In coaching GMs, I have noticed that the coaching is more about noticing patterns; making really keen observations and reflecting them back to the client. Clients are smart.
In my personal consulting practice, Blue Beagle Consulting, I do a considerable amount of consulting with the United Way agency. A great deal of this consultancy work is with the Gulfcoast United Way division. In my consultancy, I work as a coach, as well as design and facilitate diversity awareness and personal development workshops.
In my personal life, I enjoy a great movie with good popcorn, stand-up comedy, and spending mindless time with my family. I am reading “Tribes,” by Seth Godin (recommended by Newfield), and “The Greatest Salesman in the World,” by Og Mandino. My two boys are Bryce, 5, and Martin, 10 years old, respectively. As they learn and grow, I grow with them. The youngest started Kindergarten this year, and looks to the oldest to set a good example. My oldest child started middle school this year and is beginning to notice girls!
I would love to hear some of the best practices that you have grown into in your respective practices. Send me a note so that we can connect some time soon.
