I came to Newfield while I was going through big concurrent changes in my life; a cross-country move, a promotion to a huge job, and a personal life that I wasn’t sure could support all of this change. I did not realize how in denial I was about how these things affected me until I walked into the conference. This was a lifechanging experience that challenged me, taught me, and supported me each step of the way. In fact, it made so much impact, that I made an offer to Newfield to help guide their media strategy. —Adora English, 2007 New Observer & Foundations participant, strategic media consultant to Newfield
The program was pragmatic and experiential. It felt more like a powerful "lab situation" that enabled me to live and experience—rather than just intellectually discussing core concepts.
The Newfield faculty was excellent and carefully selected to meet our requirements. We had faculty who had organizational leadership experience and also distinctive experience as executive coaches. They effectively applied the core competences of ontological learning easily and effectively to a real world context.
The program had a huge impact on me personally. Being trained in analytical thinking and intellectual problem solving for 20 years, I experienced the power of observing language, body and emotions in conversations. The somatic exercises and understanding & experiencing the link between body, moods/emotions and language turned out to be very valuable. It has helped me embody learning that is important to me. Based on my experience in the program, I now have much more powerful conversations with my clients. —Beatrice Kolb, 2009 Spring New Observer & Foundations participant
